i think i better follow you around

Alfredo & Edeath, are a couple of music lovers who met later in life but grew up loving almost the same bands and hating others but always listening to music, old and new, and apart from collecting vinyl and books and going to see every good band coming to town, (or a few miles away), got together and created "I think i better follow you around", a website/music blog, where they share all the music they like and help promote upcoming concerts, local bands from San Diego and Tijuana and amazing artists from around the world. I think I better follow you around is an independent project.

Sugar – “Long Live Love”

Sugar have shared a new 7″ single, “Long Live Love” b/w “”House Of Dead Memories”.

Bob Mould shared this about the song: “I wrote ‘Long Live Love’ in 2007 while living in Washington DC. It was the George W. Bush era, I was deep in my DJ world with Blowoff, yet still writing pop songs on guitars. Garbage 2.0 is one of my desert island albums, so it’s not surprising that ‘Long Live Love’ reminds me of a long lost Garbage song!”

The Sophs – “Goldstar”

The Sophs have shared the fourth single and title track for their debut album “GOLDSTAR” out March 13th via Rough Trade.

TRACKLIST:

1) THE DOG DIES IN THE END
2) GOLDSTAR

5) HOUSE
6) SWEETIEPIE
7) DEATH IN THE FAMILY
8) A SYMPATHETIC PERSON
9) They Told Me Jump, I Said How High
10) I’M YOUR FIEND

Ethan Ramos shared this about the song: “‘GOLDSTAR’ is the worst person you know yelling at God to give them a sign that they are good. In a deliberately unserious way, we want the song to prompt the same question that the album raises, which is, if you are a good person for the wrong reasons, does that detract from your goodness?”

Tanya Tagaq – “Foxtrot”

Tanya Tagaq shared this about the release: “Designated protector. We must stand. We must protect her. The world is choking on the rancid smoke of capitalism. We must breathe. You are being feasted upon. Time to embrace carnivorous tendencies. Defend, protect, embrace.”

The Notwist – “How The Story Ends”

The Notwist have shared the second single, “How The Story Ends”, off their upcoming album “News From Planet Zombie” out March 13th via Morr Music.

The band shared this about the song: “We chose the cover of ‘How the story ends’ because we really love the song and the Lovers… it has a great energy, melody and lyrics and is really fun to play and sing,” they say. “When I first heard the demo-version, ‘Honea,’ on a Kill-Rockstars compilation, I played the song in an endless loop until I could sing along all the lyrics. And also as the other cover-version on the album is by Neil Young and has a more romantic view on relationships, we thought it is good to have this song as a sort of counterpart.”

Dälek – “Better Than”

Dälek have shared the first single, “Better Than”, off their upcoming album “Brilliance Of A Falling Moon” out March 27th via Ipecac.

TRACKLIST:

1. Better Than
2. Knowledge | Understanding | Wisdom
3. Normalized Tragedy
4. Expressions Of Love
5. Substance
6. I AM A MAN
7. For the People
8. By the Time We Arrive in El Salvador

MC Dälek shared this about the song and album: “‘Better Than’ encapsulates the new sound and feel of the record perfectly. It conveys the anger, frustration, and defiance of the moment. Sonically, it is somehow simultaneously, sparse and stripped down, yet complete and dense. A new wall of sound built only of the absolutely necessary elements. The whole project was very influenced by what’s happening in the world and this country. During the initial days of the I.C.E. raids, it got me thinking. You see those powerful photos from the sixties when Black men were marching with the ‘I AM A MAN’ sandwich board signs. It was powerful then; it’s powerful now.”

Sleaford Mods – “Elitest G.O.A.T”

Sleaford Mods have shared their latest single. “Elitest G.O.A.T”, off their just released album “The Demise Of Planet X” via Rough Trade.

The video for the song was directed by John Minton, who shared this about it: “The video is a feeding frenzy of images. Vampires and sharks chomping through themes of infighting, herd mentality, privilege, fear and escapism. Get taken for a ride. Outright.”

Minton’s most recent film “GAME” starred Jason Williamson and was released via Invada Films.

Williamson shared this about the song: “When we did the bare bones of “Elitest G.O.A.T.” it unnerved me because it almost sounded like a small band because for the bassline we really took influence from progressive music like David Bowie’s “Low”. But Andrew always comes up with something really good and tasteful, and his beat ticking away pulls it back into Sleaford Mods. As I put the vocal on, I knew it was a goer. We’ve created something a bit different, and Aldous Harding really helped with that. She is brilliant on this track, and it is one of my favourites on the album. It’s such a good song.”

James Blake – “Death Of Love”

James Blake has shared the first single, “Death Of Love”, off his upcoming album “Trying Times” out March 13th.
