i think i better follow you around

Alfredo & Edeath, are a couple of music lovers who met later in life but grew up loving almost the same bands and hating others but always listening to music, old and new, and apart from collecting vinyl and books and going to see every good band coming to town, (or a few miles away), got together and created "I think i better follow you around", a website/music blog, where they share all the music they like and help promote upcoming concerts, local bands from San Diego and Tijuana and amazing artists from around the world. I think I better follow you around is an independent project.

Johnny Marr – “Hi Hello”

Johnny Marr has a new album coming out on June 15th. It’s titled “Call The Comet” and it’ll be out through New Voodoo. He previously released the single “The Tracers” and now he brings out a very catchy hook for the amazing song called “Hi Hello”.

Johnny Marr co-directed the video alongside Mat Bancroft. And it’s just a humble honest looking video that places the song right at the center for you.
In a previous press statement Marr shared this about the upcoming album’s backstory: “Call the Comet is my own magic realism. It’s set in the not-too-distant future and is mostly concerned with the idea of an alternative society. The characters in the songs are searching for a new idealism, although there are some personal songs in there too. It’s something that people like me can relate to.”

He will be doing some touring in support of the album and the closest show to us will be June 5th and 6th at the Teragram Ballroom.

Stephen Malkmus “Sparkle Hard – The Movie”

Stephen Malkmus will release his 7th album “Sparkle Hard” on May 18th thru Matador Records & Domino Records.

Malkmus

He’s already released the amazing single “Middle America” which sounds just like a Stephen Malkmus song should sound, that slack rock sound. And now comes a short film aptly titled “Sparkle Hard: The Movie”.

On the new album there’s a collaboration with Kim Gordon on “Refute”, which was the latest single released that followed “Shiggy” and the already mentioned “Middle America”.

In this mini documentary directed by the graceful Brook Linder, who has directed videos for Spoon, Wolf Parade, Grimes, Beck, Operators, NIN, handles the duties of presenting Malkmus hitting Tennis balls and riding in a horse and playing acoustic guitar, amongst other activities.

It’s a great short film that deserves your attention if you’ve ever been a fan of any of the aforementioned bands.

Don’t forget that Malkmus will be playing the Casbah, in what will sure be a memorable show, on Friday July 20th.

This is Parish’s first album since 2013 “Screenplay” and prior to that he had done a score in 2010 for the film “She, A Chinese”. Even though it may seem he hasn’t been that busy truth is he has, touring with PJ Harvey on her Hope Six Demolition tour and also co-producing her last two albums.

Which bring us to his most recent solo release. The song “Sorry For You Loss” was released and in this song you also get PJ Harvey doing vocals along John Parish.

There will be live dates to support the album announced soon. Meanwhile enjoy the song.
