i think i better follow you around

Alfredo & Edeath, are a couple of music lovers who met later in life but grew up loving almost the same bands and hating others but always listening to music, old and new, and apart from collecting vinyl and books and going to see every good band coming to town, (or a few miles away), got together and created "I think i better follow you around", a website/music blog, where they share all the music they like and help promote upcoming concerts, local bands from San Diego and Tijuana and amazing artists from around the world. I think I better follow you around is an independent project.

Paul Banks – “Sister Midnight”

Paul Banks scored a movie by Karan Kandhar by the name of “Sister Midnight”. The same name of the song by Iggy Pop on his solo debut album.

The film’s plotline: “A genre-bending comedy about a frustrated and misanthropic newlywed who discovers certain feral impulses that land her in unlikely situations.”

Karan Kandhar shared this: “Iggy Pop was like a breadcrumb trail I followed through the unconscious as I wrote the film.”

Paul Banks covered the title track and the Stooges “Gimme Danger” and shared this about them: “‘Gimme Danger’ is one of my favorite Stooges songs, and ‘Sister Midnight’ I was less familiar with, but it is the titular track of a film that is feral with Stoogian grit and joy, so I was equally excited to immerse myself in it and find an interpretation that felt authentic to my voice.”

Fiona Apple – “Pretrial (Let Her Go Home)”

Fiona Apple has shared a new song, “Pretrial (Let Her Go Home)”, this song is not part of any upcoming release BUT is part of an initiative, found here –> https://lethergohome.org/

Fiona Apple shared this about the song: “I was a court watcher for over two years. In that time, I took notes on thousands of bond hearings. Time and time again, I listened as people were taken away and put in jail, for no other reason than that they couldn’t afford to buy their way free. It was particularly hard to hear mothers and caretakers get taken away from the people who depend on them. For the past five years, I have been volunteering with the Free Black Mamas DMV bailout, and I have been lucky to be able to witness the stories of women who fought for and won their freedom with the tireless and loving support of the leadership. I hope that this song, and the images shared with me, can help to show what is at stake when someone is kept in pretrial detention. I give this song in friendship and respect to all who have experienced the pain of pretrial detention and to the women of the group’s leadership who have taught me so much and whom I truly love.”

Elbow – “Sober”

Elbow has shared a new song, “Sober”, off their upcoming EP “AUDIO VERTIGO ECHO elbow EP 5” out June 6th.

Guy Garvey shared this about the upcoming EP: “Finishing something for the band in lots of ways. We are having more fun in the studio than ever before. Craig’s on fire as a producer, Pete and Alex are the coolest rhythm section working and Pot’s unpredictable rhythm guitar has started working its way into such a soulful and accomplished place. The words are all stories from my past, sometimes joyful, often dark, but all of it exciting and mostly true. It feels like we’re having another go on the Waltzers after hours.”

billy woods – “Dislocated”

billy woods has shared a new single, “Dislocated”, off his new album “GOLLIWOG” which was released May 9th via Backwoodz Studios.

The video for the song was directed by Ryosuke Tanzawa.

A press release shared by Backwoodz Studios said this: “One of the great things about @armandhammernyc  members’ (@cobratoof & woods)solo records is that you also get some Armand Hammer. It’s like if Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul were on TV at the same time, just different days of the week. So although GOLLIWOG track “Dislocated” is not technically an Armand Hammer song, it might be one of the best Armand Hammer songs. (For other examples, please note “Instant Transfer” on Revalator, “Magdalene” from Church, “Sardonyx” on I Told Bessie, and “Crawlspace” on Hiding Places). The “Dislocated” video is directed by Ryosuke Tanzawa, an artist whose work we have fallen in love with over the years. We cannot say enough about Ryo’s vision and artistic integrity; his work is flat-out inspiring. Put this up there with “Doves” and “The World Is Dog” and Ryo and the Armand Hammer guys are three for three on collaborations so far. The song is produced by LA experimental jazz trio Human Error Club, a band you’re going to be hearing about a lot more around these parts.”
