i think i better follow you around

Alfredo & Edeath, are a couple of music lovers who met later in life but grew up loving almost the same bands and hating others but always listening to music, old and new, and apart from collecting vinyl and books and going to see every good band coming to town, (or a few miles away), got together and created "I think i better follow you around", a website/music blog, where they share all the music they like and help promote upcoming concerts, local bands from San Diego and Tijuana and amazing artists from around the world. I think I better follow you around is an independent project.

The Notwist – “How The Story Ends”

The Notwist have shared the second single, “How The Story Ends”, off their upcoming album “News From Planet Zombie” out March 13th via Morr Music.

The band shared this about the song: “We chose the cover of ‘How the story ends’ because we really love the song and the Lovers… it has a great energy, melody and lyrics and is really fun to play and sing,” they say. “When I first heard the demo-version, ‘Honea,’ on a Kill-Rockstars compilation, I played the song in an endless loop until I could sing along all the lyrics. And also as the other cover-version on the album is by Neil Young and has a more romantic view on relationships, we thought it is good to have this song as a sort of counterpart.”

Dälek – “Better Than”

Dälek have shared the first single, “Better Than”, off their upcoming album “Brilliance Of A Falling Moon” out March 27th via Ipecac.

TRACKLIST:

1. Better Than
2. Knowledge | Understanding | Wisdom
3. Normalized Tragedy
4. Expressions Of Love
5. Substance
6. I AM A MAN
7. For the People
8. By the Time We Arrive in El Salvador

MC Dälek shared this about the song and album: “‘Better Than’ encapsulates the new sound and feel of the record perfectly. It conveys the anger, frustration, and defiance of the moment. Sonically, it is somehow simultaneously, sparse and stripped down, yet complete and dense. A new wall of sound built only of the absolutely necessary elements. The whole project was very influenced by what’s happening in the world and this country. During the initial days of the I.C.E. raids, it got me thinking. You see those powerful photos from the sixties when Black men were marching with the ‘I AM A MAN’ sandwich board signs. It was powerful then; it’s powerful now.”

Sleaford Mods – “Elitest G.O.A.T”

Sleaford Mods have shared their latest single. “Elitest G.O.A.T”, off their just released album “The Demise Of Planet X” via Rough Trade.

The video for the song was directed by John Minton, who shared this about it: “The video is a feeding frenzy of images. Vampires and sharks chomping through themes of infighting, herd mentality, privilege, fear and escapism. Get taken for a ride. Outright.”

Minton’s most recent film “GAME” starred Jason Williamson and was released via Invada Films.

Williamson shared this about the song: “When we did the bare bones of “Elitest G.O.A.T.” it unnerved me because it almost sounded like a small band because for the bassline we really took influence from progressive music like David Bowie’s “Low”. But Andrew always comes up with something really good and tasteful, and his beat ticking away pulls it back into Sleaford Mods. As I put the vocal on, I knew it was a goer. We’ve created something a bit different, and Aldous Harding really helped with that. She is brilliant on this track, and it is one of my favourites on the album. It’s such a good song.”

I can’t wait for you the hear the new record, it’s incredibly special.”

The Album Leaf – “Fight Or Flight”

The Album Leaf have shared a new single, “Fight Or Flight” featuring Aisha Badru.

Jimmy LaValle shared this about the song: “This song was actually created back in 2021. I had written the original track during the ‘Future Falling’ sessions, and during that long stretch of COVID isolation, I began exploring collaborations on songs that had space for a vocalist. Nettwerk connected me with Aisha Badru, who wrote and recorded her vocals remotely. She brought a deeply internal, unguarded emotional weight to the track, capturing the anxiety of that time, the sense of movement driven by restlessness rather than freedom, and the feeling of trying to outrun something that keeps circling back. Even though we weren’t in the same room, her voice sits at the heart of the song, carrying both tension and vulnerability. James McAlister also contributed percussion remotely, giving the track a subtle human pulse beneath the haze. The entire song came together from a distance, which somehow made it feel even more intimate—living in that space between urgency and stillness.”

Flea – “Traffic Lights”

Flea has shared the second single, “Traffic Lights”, off his upcoming album “Honora” which is out March 27th via Nonesuch.

TRACKLIST:
1. Golden Wingship
2. A Plea
3. Traffic Lights
4. Frailed
5. Morning Cry
6. Maggot Brain
7. Wichita Lineman
8. Thinkin Bout You
9. Willow Weep for Me
10. Free As I Want to Be

Flea said this about the album cover: ” This is the cover for my record “HONORA”, coming out at the end of March. The cover is a photograph of my beautiful mother-in-law, in Iran in the late 60’s, Shahin. Shahin is a strong Persian woman, and the spirit of a free Iran lives in her heart.

Flea shared this about the song: “Deantoni and I played what became ‘Traffic Lights’ the first day. Something about it reminded me of Atoms for Peace, so I sent it to Thom. Just knowing him, I thought it would be a rhythm and a sensibility that he would relate to. And I was right, he did. With a gorgeous melody and the words, you know, about living in the ‘upside down’ and how do you make sense of things when we’re getting all this fake shit and real shit? Everyone has their ways of dealing with the world. But he’s just the warmest, free flowing, jamming motherf*cker.”

Apparat – “Hum Of Maybe”

Apparat has shared a new single, “Hum Of Maybe”, off his upcoming album “A Hum Of Maybe” out February 20th via Mute.

9. Williamsburg
10. Pieces, Falling – w/ Bi Disc

Sacha Ring shared this about the song: “It’s a ‘maybe’ that is not weakness, but a space where things can grow. The album embraces a state of limbo, where there are no longer any unbreakable certainties or clear answers, only a multitude of simultaneities and intermediate states. Not or, but and: Analogue and digital. One and zero. Micro and macro. Light and shadow. The hum is that undercurrent of potential – the in-between, where life actually happens.”

Holy Fuck – “Evie”

The video for the song was directed by Colin Medley.

The band has a tour lined up in support of the album with MEMORIALS as support for the USofA part of the tour.

Ulrika Spacek – “Picto”

Ulrika Spacek have shared the third single, “Picto”, off their upcoming album “EXPO” out February 6th via Full Time Hobby.

The band shared this about the video: ” The origin of this video began with the cruel dilemma of having an upcoming dental appointment when you’re phobic of going to the dentist. Sonically it firstly made sense to do something in darkness or the night but we tried to flip that and thought medical white light could be equally unsettling. They say you have to confront your fears in order to disarm them and in this case that involved buying multiple dentistry text books with the view of scanning them and including them in the video. This took a little bit more time than first thought as it was kinda impossible to open these books until the real life appointment had taken place.”

The video for the song was directed by Katya Ganfeld.
