The Color Forty Nine – “We Send Satellites”

The Color Forty Nine have shared the second single, “We Send Satellites”, off their upcoming album “A Whisper” out February 28th.

The Color Forty Nine shared this about the song: “”We Send Satellites” was the final song to be written for our upcoming record, “A Whisper”, and came out in thinking about, with all of the wonderful distractions the world has to offer, that we often get caught up in thinking about our own needs and concerns. There are so many other pressing concerns or delightful moments that we let slip by when we don’t look outside. I find, when focusing too much on oneself, we miss cues and opportunities to experience, be involved or help others. It’s a big, bad, beautiful world, and it’s good to get outside of yourself and not be afraid to let it in.”

The Color Forty Nine will go on a tour to Japan (again) in support of the album and because they really love going on tour to Japan from March 26 and April 5th. No additional dates have been announced yet for the USofA (nor Tijuana).

Black Country, New Road – “Besties”

Black Country, New Road have shared the first single, Besties “, off their upcoming album “Forever How long” out April 4th via Ninja Tune.

TRACKLIST:

1. Besties
2. The Big Spin
3. Socks
4. Salem Sisters
5. Two Horses
6. Mary
7. Happy Birthday
8. For the Cold Country
9. Nancy Tries to Take the Night

11. Goodbye (Don’t Tell Me)

The video for the song was directed by Rianne White who shared this about it: “‘Besties’ came into my world with a dance of feelings, with such an understood concept of exploring the core emotion of taking on the world, and its obstacles to be with her, the bestie, again. Building this with the band took me to so many memories, informed by a collective of experiences from my childhood writing letters and maps to my bestie, into formulating our own map and sliding-doors effect narrative, charged with the instinctual punch and intuition of, I need to be with my bestie now. Working with Georgia, May, and Tyler was a real treat across their performances especially, and quite literally, running from the more conventional lip-sync world, and injecting cameo moments with Charlie, Lewis, and Luke. Knee-high in January’s jacket of mud, darkness, fields, street corners, and a pack of hounds we found the beating heart of a world made better by chasing love and connection. Shooting in these conditions, and having fun is a real testament to a fantastic team and collective of people! It’s been such a pleasure, this song was love at first harpsichord!”

Georgia Ellery shared this about the album: “It created a real through line for the album, having three girls singing. It’s definitely very different to Ants From Up There, because of the female perspective and the music we’ve made also complements that.”

The band’s new lineup is Georgia Ellery (acoustic guitar, mandolin, tenor recorder, violin, vocals), Lewis Evans (alto saxophone, bass clarinet, clarinet, flutes, tenor recorder), Tyler Hyde (acoustic guitar, bass guitar, clarinet, harmonium, piano, tenor recorder, vocals), May Kershaw (accordion, harpsichord, piano, vocals), Luke Mark (acoustic guitar, baritone guitar, electric guitar, lap steel, tenor recorder), and Charlie Wayne (banjo, drums, percussion, tenor recorder, tuned percussion).

Lucrecia Dalt – “cosa rara”

Lucrecia Dalt has shared the first single, “cosa rara” (featuring David Sylvian), off her upcoming EP “cosa rara” out February 28th via RVNG Intl.

Lucrecia Dalt shared this about the song: “The lyrics paint an urban experience of the sublime a deliciously lurid scene between two lovers, reveling in each other’s presence so fervently that they create a wild magnetic force field, attracting all sorts of delightful chaos around them. They disrupt the fabric of reality, with anomalies seeping in from the edges of perception.”

David Sylvian mixed “cosa rara,” and he co-wrote it and co-produced it with Lucrecia Dalt.

Tunde Adebimpe shared this about the album: “I’ve been doing this thing with this group of people for so long, that I can just have a vague sketch of a concept and I know Jaleel or Kyp will have five brilliant ideas on where it can go. But for “Thee Black Boltz”, I didn’t have that scaffolding to hang on. That was both terrifying and exhilarating.”

Puma Blue – “tapestry”

Puma Blue has shared a new single, “tapestry”, available now via Blue Flowers.

The video for the song was directed by Puma Blue and he shared this about it: “I wanted the video to feel like a found-footage tape, but from my subconscious…
A stumble through dark woods, crossing paths with familiar figures and ghosts, real and imagined. There are hidden easter egg moments, some that might only click for a few who know me best.”

Puma Blue shared this about the song: “We lose things, things we think we’ll have forever. It can devastate the fabric of our reality. I wrote this song to someone I lost who taught me a lot, someone I counted on having much more time with. I only recorded ‘tapestry’ as one writes in a journal, without intention to share it with anyone, just a private expression. But with a little nudge from my friends, here I am again, offering my whispers to the wind.”

Dafydd Leuan shared this about the song: “Hindsight and rose-tinted glasses. It’s a song about a time when it was normal to order a veggie breakfast in hotels as a concession to a healthier lifestyle, then following up by requesting to see the ‘Breakfast Wine Menu.’ As Lou Reed sang: ‘Wine in the morning!’ Everyone should live like that for a while. Could be for a couple of days or a couple of decades. We’ve never laughed so much, but never again.”

The Limiñanas – “J’Adore Le Monde”

The Limiñanas shared this about the song: “The result of a synthesizer collage, with lyrics open to multiple interpretations… We hope that Bertrand Belin, who writes wonderfully and is a great performer, will always be present on at least one track of all our future albums! He is never where one expects him.”

Heartworms – “Extraordinary Wings”

Heartworms have shared a new single, “Extraordinary Wings”, off her upcoming album “Glutton For Punishment” out February 7th via Speedy Wunderground.

TRACKLIST:

1. In The Beginning
2. Just To Ask A Dance
3. Jacked
4. Mad Catch
5. Extraordinary Wings
6. Warplane
7. Celebrate
8. Smuggler’s Adventure
9. Glutton For Punishment

The video for the song was directed by Gilbert Trejo.

Jojo Orme shared this about the album: “‘Glutton for Punishment’ pushes beyond the post-punk pigeonhole of my earlier work, balancing brooding intensity with moments of pop-infused catchiness. I can do post-punk, but I can also be poppy and catchy, and this album represents that. I think people might be surprised when they hear it. ‘Glutton for Punishment’ tackles themes of broken families and fractured relationships with bracing candor, infused with a disquieting sense that I find a drawing to the chaos. We’re all so drawn to punishing ourselves, and I’m always drawn to singing about it, and thinking about it.”

Circuit des Yeux – “Megaloner”

Circuit des Yeux has shared the first single, “Megaloner”, off her upcoming album “Halo On The Inside” out March 14th via Matador.

TRACKLIST:

03. Skeleton Key
04. Anthem of Me
05. Cosmic Joke
06. Cathexis
07. Truth
08. Organ Bed
09. It Takes My Pain Away

Haley Fohr shared this about the song: “‘Megaloner’ is an anthem for the place that exists after an action and inside its consequence. Prices are being paid and hope is our currency. I’m singing about endurance, faith, agency, and the singular, unbelievable path toward one’s own fate”.

The video for the song was directed by Dana Trippe.

Fohr shared this about the album: “I found a very surprising, small voice in me, and it was deep, deep behind my heart. Through the process of making this music I was able to rewind myself to a time before fear. And in the absence of fear I found the intimate beat of sex, love, and melody”.
