Tindersticks have shared that they will be scoring Claire Denis new movie “Stars At Noon”, and with it they have shared a video for the title track. The “Stars At Noon” soundtrack will be released October 14th via City Slang.

Stuart Staples shared this via a press release: “I stood in CDG, terminal two, talking to Claire on the cell phone. She was preparing to leave for Panama to start filming ‘Stars at Noon’. “And of course I need the song for the dance scene for the shoot,” she said.

“What dance scene? Is it in the script?” I replied.

“It’s in the new version of the script.”

“Ah, do I have the new version?..”. The line faded and I was left considering this, something that I expected to hit me in the months ahead but was suddenly all over me.

Stars At Noon had been in Claire’s thoughts for a long time, maybe even 10 years. We have had many conversations, I had a strong feeling for it and half a song somewhere in my mind.

I remembered the percussionist David Pattman, he played the bongos on the Trouble Every Day score 20 years before. He was happy to hear from me and we quickly arranged a recording session with Dan McKinna on double bass and Ross Stanley on Hammond organ. We had a blast those days, taking the ideas apart, putting them back together in many different forms.

At the centre was the song “Stars at Noon” – I was pushing it to be slower and slower, until it only just grooved, just on the cusp. Finding that tempo was key for me and the final version was recorded live in one take. Julian Seigel arrived later and played the beautiful tenor sax line.

I sent a rough mix to Claire in Panama, they were having production problems and she said the song cheered them all up – I heard all the crew singing along in the background”.

The Locust have shared the video for the remix they did for the song “Cruel Compensation” from Danny Elfman’s latest album “Bigger. Messier.”.

The video for the song was directed and edited by frequent collaborator Dark Details.

Booby Bray of the Locust shared this: “The remix was the last recording Gabe Serbian did before he left this world, making this video release surreal, intense, and cathartic. When we were asked if we wanted to do a remix for Danny’s album it was one of the easiest things for the band to say yes to. After narrowing it down we finally decided on Cruel Compensation as it had a lot of parts we could put our own stamp on while reinforcing the intentions of the song, in an attempt to make the weird parts weirder and the brutal parts even more intense. We stretched a couple of parts, edited a couple of parts, cranked the bass, JP and I added some vocals, Kareem added lots of synth, I added some guitar towards the end, and Gabe redid all of the drums.During the pandemic and the previous US administration, Danny Elfman wrote the album Big Mess, which did a great job of reflecting and regurgitating the dystopian despair that was taking place. It was largely based on his guitar playing and was born out of what he called Chamber Punk. (So maybe our remix is Sci-fi Chamber Punk!)”

Fever Ray has shared a new song, “What They Call Us”, via Rabid / Mute.

The video for the song was directed by Martin Falck.

As much as this song is by Fever Ray, it was written and co-produced by Olof Dreijer. So it’s as close as a new the Knife song as we’re going to get and that is just fine.

There are no further details regarding a new album nor a tour or any other details. So just enjoy this song for the moment being.

Gabriels has released a new single, “Angels And Queens”, off their album “Angels And Queens – Part 1”.

The video for the song “Angels And Queens” was directed by Clarys Biagi.

Gabriels just finished up a short run of dates opening up for Harry Styles. Jacob Lusk (singer) said of the album: “I’m not gonna lie, I want to win every award, every Grammy! I want to perform with everybody and anybody”. Ari Balouzian (violinist, producer) said: “The success of this was actually getting to make something we’re so proud of”. Ryan Hope (keyboard, producer) said: “I got everything I needed from it; enjoying the process. I’m not looking for it to do any specific number or win a bunch of things”.

LCD Soundsystem have shared a new single, “New Body Rhumba”, for the Noah Baumbach directed movie “White Noise”.

James Murphy is no stranger to working with Noah Baumbach since he has already scored 2 of his previous films, “Greenberg” and “While We’re Young”.

The movie will premiere in theaters on November 25th and begin streaming in Netflix on December 30th. The movie is an adaptation of the “unfilmable” book “White Noise” by Don Delillo, whose synopsis reads: “Jack Gladney is the creator and chairman of Hitler studies at the College-on-the-Hill. This is the story of his absurd life – a life that is going well enough until a chemical spill from a rail car releases an Airborne Toxic Event, and Jack is forced to confront his biggest fear: his own mortality.” .

The movie stars Adam Driver, Greta Gerwig, Jodie Turner-Smith, Don Cheadle. The original score was done by Danny Elfman.

Caleb Landry Jones has announced the release of his new album, “Gadzooks Vol. 2”, out November 4th via Sacred Bones.

The first single off the album is “Touchdown Yolk”. The video directed by his own creative collective Shalah Shakah Productions, collages handheld camcorder footage recorded around New York City.

Caleb Landry Jones shared this in a statement: “I’m aware of only half the picture. It comes down upon me like a heavy rain. Teebs also created the artwork. He had not released anything since 2020. The L.A. producer has not announced any live dates around the USofA (nor Tijuana).

LIES have released a new single, “Corbeau”, out on Polyvinyl now.

LIES is, Mike and Nate Kinsella, cousins and band members in American Football and Joan of Arc. The song also has backing vocals from Now, Now’s KC Dalager.

Austin TV have woken from their slumber and released a new single, “De La Orquídea Y De La Avispa”, after almost 10 years away.

The band released a statement via their Instagram account that said: To all of us that male rhizome and love Austin TV. It’s been almost 9 years since our last concert. There aren’t enough words to express our thanks and gratitude for all the different ways that you’ve showed that you care and love us. Austin is alive and active thanks to you that have allowed our music to accompany you. In these last years a lot of things have happened. We’re well aware that Austin is more than a band, it’s an entity-spirit that exists and has existed no matter the circumstances. It has been said that the only constant is movement and Austin has not been the exception. We have mutated again…we want to let you know that at the beginning of this year, Mario Sanchez (Chavo), founding member of the band proposed to us to continue on with the band sans him, because he discovered that his place in music was no longer on stage. He wants to pursue his dream of becoming a professional in the music industry as a representative in Mexico of “CD Baby” and “Downtown Music Holdings”. Trying to be as crystal clear as possible with all of you we want to let you know that he has approved of this communication and has asked that we all respect his decision since he sincerely hopes that we all can continue to vibe together with Austin TV; that way honoring the fundamental idea of the band and the reason why we wear masks and uniforms. Why come back? We’re doing it because life has taught us that in these years Austin and music saves us. We’ve gone thru deep processes of self knowledge, and working on our mental health both individually and collective. We decided to get together to play and compose because of our need to express everything that we’ve learned and grown throughout these years. We don’t have the exact words to describe what we feel, we have music. We also wanted to let you know how grateful we are to have coincided and to have connected to play and compose new music for Austin, Hector Fematt, who far from being new, is an old friend and an incredible guitarist. He has played with different bands like Canseco, Insite, Kill Aniston, Accidents, Javier Blake, Silver Rose, Bye Sami, Desmemoriado, A veces siempre, among others. We welcome and thank him for sharing part of his soul to this cause. We are really excited with this new chapter of Austin TV. We want to believe that “ALL OF US ARE PART OF A WHOLE”. We want to believe in the quantic consciousness, in the mycelium, in drawing maps, to be a rhizome like the orchid and the was. But above all we want to believe that in this constant becoming we will find meaning and expression for all of these emotions that unites us as persons. We are an instrumental band with a lot to say. Thank you for your understanding and for honoring the processes of Austin TV. We’ll be waiting in the instrumental rock and we promise you all of our love and all of ourselves. Something noteworthy that ties this announcement to the city of Tijuana is the fact that the band has been using in their new work and live set up pedals from the local company Paradox Effects.

Lastly, Austin TV have been the 1st band announced for next year’s Vive Latino festival in Mexico City.
