This is “Psycho star” from King Tuff‘s new album ‘The Other’ available now via Sub Pop, this is album sounds very mellow down-glam rock, we hope it sounds more energetic when performed live, go check him out on May 3rd at Casbah San Diego.
The Melvins kicked off their latest tour with their sold out show at the Casbah on 4/26. This, behind the release of their new album “Pinkus Abortion Technician”. What was special about their show this time around? Well their lineup consisted of 2 bass players, Jeff Pinkus to Buzz’s right and Steven McDonald to his right. So sandwiched in between those 2 and in front of Dale’s drumming we got a one of a kind show.

One of the topics of conversation that came up last night after their amazing show is this.
Who will take the Melvins place when they’re gone?
Who is that one band that can live up to the task of performing every year thunderous sets?
Be a beloved and cult band at the same time.
Be able to inspire and be admired by other musicians and still produce an amazing body of work.
There are so many more qualities that can be added to them.
Many more ways of paying tribute with words or pictures, but the best thing you can do right now is go out and see them play live.
Who knows if there will be another band in our lifetime that can do what the Melvins have done for 35 years so far, and counting.

Long live the Melvins.

King Krule played the Observatory in North Park on April 20th. This was one of the dates scheduled in between the Coachella weekends. And the Terrible Ivan Marshall came out swinging to his sold out show.

The crowd response was amazing, they were either moshing or singing the songs right with King Krule. His stage presence felt huge and his voice could fill the theatre without a problem. One thing is clear, no one is making music like him out there right now. His blend of music works great for him and his band and that is why he has earned fans across different genres.

This is the setlist for the show:
Has This Hit? / Ceiling / Dum Surfer / A Lizard State / The Locomotive / Cadet Limbo / Cementality / Biscuit Town / The Cadet Leaps / Logos / Rock Bottom / Little Wild / Midnight 01 (Deep Sea Diver) / Emergency Blimp / (A Slide In) New Drugs / Badoom The Ooz / iPhone (My) X / Half Man Half Shark / Baby Blue / Easy Easy

This happened almost 3 years ago, July 26, 2015 at the Echoplex, to say the least it was an amazing show, Head Wound City was presenting their album, “A new wave of violence” produced by Ross Robinson.
We were lucky to attend the show with our two daughters, Zoe (10) and Ofelia (3 months, this was her first concert, she stayed backstage with Dad and slept during the whole set), Zoe was awake standing side stage, amazed by the amount of energy and loud sounds her friends were making.
We can only say thank you to Cody, Gabe, Jordan, Justin, Nick for making more music and we hope to see you perform together again.
