There are some things that need to be said about the show. Some of the feedback being shared was that this show was magical, that it was breathtaking, that it was the best thing they had seen in years, that it hit all the right notes…
What isn’t mentioned in that discourse is that YES “Air” are incredible and impeccable performers live, however the venue for whatever godforsaken reason never raises the volume for their shows to a level where you start almost transporting yourself to another dimensional plane because what you’re feeling in those moments only the music can explain. Yes the stage design is amazing and a great idea, but not in that venue where you still have the building with lights on that distract you from what you’re supposed to be invested in that’s still on stage. Yes nostalgia will play tricks on your mind and it will make you think that something is better than what you’re witnessing live because you want to believe it. Because you want to feel like you did that one day. Because you want to convince yourself of something.
If you had never seen “Air” live this was a great show to be introduced to. Other than that we can wait and see what they will do for the “Talkie Walkie” tour or maybe they’ll call it the “Surfing On Rocket” tour even though a better apt title could be “Universal Traveler” or “Biological”. The one we would see live, if they ever did it, would be the “10,000 Hz Legend”. Until that day, au revoir.
