Steve Lyman has shared the news of a new album, “Signal To Burning”, out April 1st.

Steve Lyman shared this about the album: “I’m excited to announce a new record, set for release next year, featuring some of today’s most forward-thinking musicians across multiple genres: Cedric Bixler-Zavala (The Mars Volta), Tigran Hamasyan (piano), and Nathan Schram (Attacca String Quartet), alongside myself on drums, synthesizers, and production. This album is a genre-defying venture—a meeting point of rock, jazz, classical, and experimental sounds pushing the boundaries of what’s possible.”
With the news of the new album he also shared the first single “Homecoming”. Lyman shared this about the release: “This record has been three years in the making… or ten… or maybe thirty. I moved back to New York during COVID to re-immerse myself in jazz, but instead found myself deconstructing everything and reconnecting with the music that shaped me early on—before jazz—while finding my way into sound design and synthesizers for the first time. Jazz gave me a foundation, but this project is about stripping things back to get to the heart of what I really want to express. After a year of searching for the right producer, it became clear that I needed to step into that role myself. It’s my first time producing, and hearing the finished music feels deeply meaningful. Working with Cedric has been a dream and a true meeting of shared vision. He’s my favorite singer. Tigran Hamasyan and Nathan Schram brought profound depth and heart to this record, and I’m endlessly grateful. I can’t wait to share their contributions when the time comes. There are 14 songs on the record, with four singles leading up to the release on April 1. I’m playing drums and synthesizers on most of the music, alongside some powerful contributions from the other musicians on a number of tracks.
I couldn’t be happier to finally share this.”
Alongside this single he also shared a second song, “Birds Singing On The Moon”.
