Alfredo & Edeath, are a couple of music lovers who met later in life but grew up loving almost the same bands and hating others but always listening to music, old and new, and apart from collecting vinyl and books and going to see every good band coming to town, (or a few miles away), got together and created "I think i better follow you around", a website/music blog, where they share all the music they like and help promote upcoming concerts, local bands from San Diego and Tijuana and amazing artists from around the world.
I think I better follow you around is an independent project.
Calvin Love has shared the first song, “Laughing In The Dark”, off his upcoming album “Lavender” out May 27th on his label Hidden Treasures Recordings via Taxi Gauche Records.
Love returns with the follow up to Night Songs which was released February 2020 via Taxi Gauche Records as well.
Calvin Love gives us a poppier darker version of what Chris Isaak was. He’s owner of a soothing crooning and he accompanies this song with a great arrangement. If this is an indication of what the album will sound like then we can rest assured it will sound beautiful.
We look forward to when touring is a thing again and we are able to see him perform once more.
Red Fang, the beloved Portland-based “riff-heavy” (NPR) rock band, return with their highly-anticipated new album, Arrows, on June 4 via Relapse Records.
“It was so gratifying to put these songs on tape with Funk!” says guitarist/vocalist Bryan Giles of the album that was produced by longtime collaborator Chris Funk (Murder The Mountains, Whales and Leeches). It felt very comfortable with a loose schedule. We didn’t take it one song at a time, but added guitars, vocals, or general weirdness whenever an idea sprang to mind. We busted out a hurdy gurdy! It was that fun.
Long live Rock!!”
“WOW! We are SO EXCITED to finally release this record to the world! We finished the album way back in December 2019 and then… something happened that is not worth discussing…,” adds vocalist/bassist Aaron Beam. “Making this record felt totally loose and easy. It felt like we were just doing whatever the fuck we wanted, and not overthinking anything. That attitude reminded me a lot of what it felt like to make Murder the Mountains. The result doesn’t sound anything like MTM, but it has more of that vibe.”
News of the eagerly-awaited album, the band’s first collection in five years, arrives with a new chapter in the band’s unparalleled canon of Whitey McConnaughy-directed music videos as the foursome unveils a clip for “Arrows”, finds Red Fang once again exploring creative ways to spend the label’s music video budget in a subtle nod to the band’s classic “Wires” video.
“His way of presenting us really works,” says guitarist David Sullivan of the band’s relationship with Whitey. “That first video he did for us for ‘Prehistoric Dog’ gave us a big jumpstart as far as the band getting popular. And we love working with him.”
Red Fang is Aaron Beam (bass/vocals/guitar/keyboards), Bryan Giles (guitar/vocals), John Sherman (drums) and David Sullivan (guitars). Over the course of their 16-year career the Portland, Oregon-based band has released four studio albums (Red Fang (2009), Murder the Mountains (2011), Whales and Leeches (2013), and Only Ghosts(2016), joined Fred Armisen in an epic battle against invading zombie hordes, were joined by Paul Shaffer during a standout performance on The Late Show with David Letterman, and have created the best music videos in recent history.
Modern Hate LP:
END
A NEW SLAVE
IT FOLLOWS
HANDS ON THE WALL
DEATH IS NOT AN OPTION
ERASED
TRUST NO GOD
THE WITNESS
EMPTY SPACES
NO HEAVEN

As exciting as it is hearing new Danny Elfman music, the excitement is exponentially greater knowing there would/is a tour involved. Seeing, experiencing, a live Danny Elfman show should be in (almost) everybody’s bucket list. He just might be the one artist who EVERYBODY knows at least 2 songs from.
Via a statement Elfman said: “Once I began writing, it was like opening a Pandora’s box and I found I couldn’t stop. None of it was planned. I had no idea how many songs I would write but from the start, it quickly became a two-sided project with heavily contrasting and even conflicting tones.”
Elfman enlisted guitarists Robin Finck (Nine Inch Nails, Guns N’ Roses) and Nili Brosh (Dethklok, Elfman), drummer Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle, The Vandals) and bassist Stu Brooks (Lady Gaga, Dub Trio).
Michelle Gurevich just released a new single titled “No One Answer”. This is available thru her bandcamp so go over and download it as this counts as essential listening.
She released a lyric video for it.
This is the first release since “Ecstasy in the Shadow of Ecstasy” was released back in May of 2020. No additional information has been released. Michelle Gurevich is a writer of ballads. She used to perform as Chinawoman and wrote the destined to be classic “Party Girl”.

Museum Of Love is Pat Mahoney and Dennis McNany. Mahoney is best known as the drummer in all-conquering NYC band LCD Soundsystem, while Dennis got his studio chops as an intern and assistant engineer at Plantain Studios in the West Village at a time when DFA’s Tim Goldsworthy was in permanent residence and a whole scene was emerging from Manhattan. “In those early days,” says Dennis, “it was just friends coming in and out, occasionally doing projects, so you would meet a lot of people. Pat was in and out and that’s how we got to know each other. It just became a little bit of a family there for a couple years.”
The album was written and produced by the band and it was mixed by James Murphy. The album features appearances from Arthur Russell, Peter Gordon and Matt Shaw.
Paper Mice returns with their third full-length, and second for Three One G Records, 1-800-MONDAYS, out May 7th, 2021.
Tracklisting: Fight Fire With Firearms 1-800-MONDAYS Fight Spider With Fire For The Birds Trial By Fire Fresh Coat It’s Your Funeral Taking The Heat A Regular Guy The Cynic Route
Paper Mice released a video for “The Cynic Route” with the direction and video concept by NNAMDÏ:
Still centered on their dense-but-slamming post-punk trio compositions, the arrangements broaden in scope, adding orchestral instruments and Beach Boys-inspired vocal harmonies, while the band incorporates new stylistic elements with occasional Metal riffs and twisted Latin-tinged melodies. These choices cleverly tie in with the pun-strewn lyrics about bizarre true-life stories: a parrot who flies away from home and returns four years later speaking Spanish; an educator who secretly- and repeatedly- defecates on the school’s track; an arachnophobic driver who tries to kill a spider at the gas pump… with a cigarette lighter! The band also expands their sonic footprint, recording the album at famed Electrical Audio. The ten songs go by quickly, but repeated listens are rewarded with new details and new laughs- provided you don’t throw your neck out trying to bob your head!
Bachelor is Ellen Kempner (Palehound) and Melina Duterte (Jay Som) and they have their debut album Doomin’ Sun coming out May 28th via Polyvinyl.
TRACKLIST: 01 “Back Of My Hand” 02 “Sand Angel” 03 “Stay In The Car” 04 “Went Out Without You” 05 “Spin Out” 06 “Anything At All” 07 “Moon” 08 “Sick Of Spiraling” 09 “Aurora” 10 “Doomin’ Sun”
They’re sharing the video for “Stay In The Car” which was directed by Haoyan Of America.
This is what Kempner said about “Stay In The Car”: “I wrote the lyrics to “Stay In the Car” back in December of 2019 when I was in Florida for my partner’s top surgery. I had run out one afternoon, post op, while he was healing to grab lunch for us and as I was gathering my stuff in the parking lot, a big car pulled up and this absolutely beautiful woman got out. She was dressed all in red, dripping with jewelry and had the most wild fiery mane I’d ever seen. She was yelling at the man behind the wheel asking him what he wanted from the store and I wished I was that man. I wanted to be a part of her life, her best friend, her driver, whatever she wanted me to be. I was completely mesmerized.”
“We wanted this song to be a visceral listening experience, inspired by the Pixies and the Breeders,” Duterte added. “For the music video, we worked on a two-day shoot with Haoyan of America in Poughkeepsie in extremely cold weather. We all collaborated on the idea that our friendship should be portrayed in a fun and stylish way. Haoyan captured that energy in his own unique and creative lens through his collection of 80s/90s/00s props and toys, CGI, and anything car-themed.”
We cannot wait until there’s some sort of touring in the near future and we are able to see them live.
