i think i better follow you around

Alfredo & Edeath, are a couple of music lovers who met later in life but grew up loving almost the same bands and hating others but always listening to music, old and new, and apart from collecting vinyl and books and going to see every good band coming to town, (or a few miles away), got together and created "I think i better follow you around", a website/music blog, where they share all the music they like and help promote upcoming concerts, local bands from San Diego and Tijuana and amazing artists from around the world. I think I better follow you around is an independent project.

Beak> – “Kosmik Musik”

Beak> have shared the music accompaniment to the graphic novel “Kosmik Musik” by artist Joe Currie and writer Ben Wheatley.

Kosmik Musik is melting pot of 2000ad, Metal Hurlant, Kirby tech, psychedelic 60s art, Doctor Who, Douglas Adams, Kraut Rock, Star Trek and Star Wars. A UK 70s English childhood basically.
The project comes with a sonic accompaniment by Beak> who have live dates on the horizon including Primavera Sound in LA.

Through a press statement this was shared: “Two years in the making Kosmik Musik is a collaboration between artist Joe Currie, writer Ben Wheatley and musical group Beak>, who worked closely with the artists to provide a musical accompaniment for the graphic novel. The audio is available digitally worldwide via Invada from September 23rd. Further details on the limited edition physical formats below. Ben and Joe met at art school in the 90s where they both were involved in a lot of comic book drawing and reading. It’s taken thirty years to finally get their acts together and create this book. In the meantime Joe has been sculpting and painting. Ben has been writing and directing films.

Taleen Kali – “Only Lovers Left Alive”

Taleen Kali has shared the new single/video, “Only Lovers Left Alive”, off her upcoming debut album out March 3rd, 2023 via Dum Dum Records.

The video was directed by Joe Rubinstein, and he shared this about it: “When Taleen asked me to create visuals for “Only Lovers Left Alive” I knew it had to be something dramatic, but it also had to have vampires! I recently picked up a scientific camera that is often used to film car crashes in test labs. I knew that if I combined a super-slow motion camera, vampires, and some fun stunt work we would have an amazing video. Close friend Marie Fink, of V10 Stunts, came on board. Marie has worked on films like The Dark Knight, Inception, Dunkirk, and most recently Star Wars Skeleton Crew.”

Taleen Kali shared this: ““Only Lovers Left Alive” is about finding connection despite all odds. I wrote this song while walking through the deserted streets of LA during the early pandemic. There was nobody in sight, I hadn’t seen another human being for days, and I imagined what would happen if there was only one other person left alive in the world. “Only Lovers Left Alive” is one of my favorite vampire movies of all time, so for the visual we wanted to create something special for spooky season that also pays homage to vampire tropes, plus a bloody twist at the end just in time for Halloween!”

Her US tour kicks off in October.

MorMor – “Semblance”

MorMor has announced the release of his debut album, “Semblance”, out November 4th.

The Semblance Tour kicks off this January. This is the beginning of a journey I would like to share with you”.

A band statement read: “Pummeling curveball from Fucked Up channeling the world of HC that birthed them, despotic and horrendously sludgy riffs exploding in octaves lower than Hades, crashing against hellish bellowing all while the rhythm section heaves at a pace that only Noothgrush, Crossed Out, Kiss it Goodbye, and Bloodlet would tread upon. Topped off with an absolutely despicable cover of Saint-Saens “The Aquarium” this is the mythologically psychedelic sludge record you never thought Fucked Up would make. 4 tracks of pure audio excretion”.

Alexis Castrogiovanni – “Someday My Thoughts Will Be Like A Range Of Mountains”

Alexis Castrogiovanni has shared the titled track, “Someday My Thoughts Will Be Like A Range Of Mountains”, off her upcoming self released EP.

Track List:

1. Ex-Girl
2. Someday My Thoughts Will Be Like A Range Of Mountains
3. A Certain Point
4. To Catch A Feeling

The music video for the title track was directed by Millefiore Clarkes.

Alexis Castrogiovanni shared this about the release: “This EP, “Someday My Thoughts Will Be Like a Range of Mountains”, was my first time making a studio recording. It felt like an alien world away from the classical music world in which I grew up, where we devoted our time and energy to the art of giving live stage performances. My training concentrated on things like the audience, the room and a high level of perfection that would translate into a polished live performance. Performing to a microphone in a studio was so new for me, recording, editing and mastering felt like utter mysteries before I worked on this EP. My classical music training and language is present in everything I do, whether I’m honoring it or rebelling against it. I think in the title track and “To Catch a Feeling”, you can hear echoes of the many hours I have spent in the cello section in symphony orchestras over the years. There is a sense of expansiveness, textural possibility and sheer human power in an orchestra. I felt that when I was trying to carve and shape those two particular songs, they feel somehow orchestral to me. The deep, raw emotions I was so inspired by in classical music, like in Mahler or Britten, was what came to my mind when writing them, they called for that kind of setting, so that’s what I tried to give to them while still understanding my music as pop”.
