TRACKLIST:

01. Love Beyond The Grave
02. Dead Beat
03. I’ve Become What I Fear Most

The first single off the album is for the song “Degeneration”. The video for the song was co-directed by Kate Clover and Brandon Welchez.

Brandon Welchez shared this about the song: “The heaviness of life on a violent, dying planet can often push us towards our worst impulses. “Degeneration” was written in the boiling, diseased summer of 2020 where I found myself overworked, underpaid and choking on wildfire smoke. The free time I had was spent doom-scrolling the latest covid death toll or inundating myself with news of literal fascists marching the streets. I found myself floating on a cloud of anger, fear and frustration. Rather than allow myself to fall into bad old habits or succumb to my negative emotion.”

The only live date announced so far is for the Manchester Psych Fest in September, other than that no USofA (nor Tijuana) shows have been announced yet.

Venamoris – “Drowning Emotion”

Venamoris has shared a new single/video for “Drowning Emotion” off their album “Drown In Emotion” out February 10th via Three One G.

The video for “Drowning Emotion” was directed by Displaced Replaced.

Venamoris is the collaboration of Paula and Dave Lombardo. Dave Lombardo shared this about the group: “Several months after meeting Paula in 2010, she hesitantly shared with me her past decade-long career as the lead back up singer for Wayne Newton. She later played me some of the demos she recorded throughout the years and I was floored by her sonically soothing, rich tone and natural, instinctive ability to harmonize. I was determined to persuade her to return to her creative self. It’s been a deeply gratifying journey witnessing this music come to life.”

Paula Lombardo, who performs vocals and piano for this project, bursts with vulnerability and intimacy, addressing a broad scope of emotion: anger, healing, pain, hope. It’s evident that Venamoris was founded out of love, passion, communication, respect, and trust.

Esben And The Witch – “Hold Sacred”

Esben And The Witch have announced the release of their new album, “Hold Sacred”, out May 12th via Nostromo Records.

TRACKLIST:

The Well
In Ecstasy
Fear Not
Silence, 1801
True Mirror
A Kaleidoscope

Petals of Ash

The first single is the album opener “The Well”. The video was directed by vocalist Rachel Davies.

Via a press release the band shared this about the album: “This record was born in a hot mosquito summer in a terracotta villa an hour outside of Rome. It bloomed in winter on an abandoned beach in a fishing village close to Porto, overlooking the Atlantic. It found form in a gîte in the middle of the French countryside and grew in a ramshackle old house, full of old cloaks and books in rural Germany.

Protect what is precious. Hold Sacred.”

Rachel Davies shared this about the song: “A voice echoing from the bottom of a well. A call from a chamber, from within oneself, to summon the strength to climb out of the darkness, when it seems impossible. To call upon things often deemed frightening and to change your perception of said demons in order to survive. To build a ladder of light to aid your own escape.”

The band will be on tour starting in the month of May. No dates for the USofA (nor Tijuana) have been announced yet.

Jeff Tweedy – “Union Maid”

Jeff Tweedy has shared a cover of Woody Guthrie “Union Maid” song for the Jesse Eisenberg directed movie “When You Finish Saving The World”

The movie stars Finn Wolfhard as an up-and-coming folk musician trying to simultaneously navigate a complicated relationship with his mother, played by Julianne Moore. The film’s soundtrack features original music by Wolfhard and Eisenberg, as well as a score composed by Emile Mosseri.

Jesse Eisenberg shares this about the music in the film: “Emile is a genius. The idea behind the score is that when Ziggy’s on the screen it’s almost a manifestation of his persona, so the instruments have this certain tonal feel like they’re emerging out of cheap equipment. Of course, Evelyn’s soundtrack is all classical because that’s all she listens to and is what’s in her head. What makes it fun is that these sounds compete with each other throughout the movie, depending on who is dominating a particular scene.”

And a giant ‘Fuck you’ to anyone that is terrified of immigration because there is nothing that immigration has brought to this country that isn’t to be applauded. Can you imagine what this place would be like without that [immigration]? I mean what would it be like? Cornish pasties and morris dancing?”

No USofA (nor Tijuana) dates have been announced yet. He will be touring the UK in the Spring.

Fever Ray – “Kandy”

Fever Ray has shared a new video, “Kandy”, of her upcoming album “Radical Romantics” out March 10th.

The video was directed by Martin Falco and performed by Karin and Olof Dreijer.

Olof shares this about the song: “I tried to tune in as much as possible into Fever Ray vibes and tried many different styles, or clothes as I usually say when I talk about different music production suggestions. But in the end we took out the same synthesizer, the SH101, used for The Knife track, ʻThe Captain,ʼ and it just worked!”

Clark – “Town Crank”

Clark has shared the first single, “Town Crank”, off his upcoming album “Sus Dog” out May 26th via Throttle.

TRACKLIST:

01 “Alyosha”
02 “Town Crank”

07 “Forest”
08 “Dolgoch Tape”
09 “Bully”
10 “Dismissive”
11 “Medicine” (Feat. Thom Yorke)
12 “Ladder”

The album was produced by Thom Yorke (The Smile, Atoms Form Peace and other bands) and he shares this about his role: “Chris wrote me to say he’d started singing, looking for feedback/advice or whatever, cuz it was kind of new shark-infested waters for him. I’ve been into what he does for years, and I ended up being a kind of backseat driver as he pieced all the oddness of it together, which was fascinating…. I wasn’t surprised to discover he came at singing and words through another door completely, which to me was the most interesting and exciting part. The first thing he sent me was him singing about being stuck between two floors and I was already sold. To me the way he approached it all wasn’t the usual singer/songwriter guff thank god; it mirrored the way he approached all his composition and recording, but this time it had a human face. His face.”

Chris Clark (Clark) shared this about it: “It’s a lifetime’s worth of listening to songs and working out how to make them, tuning into how to customize all the other elements to my tastes. It feels like my debut, in a way. My thought process on making this album was ‘What would it sound like if The Beach Boys took MDMA and made a rave record?’”
